- The Business & Baseball Youth Program -
2008 Academic Program of the Year

Teaching high school students the fundamentals of business through the model of how Major League Baseball organizations operate on a daily basis.

The mission of Business & Baseball is at its core, to motivate our youth to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. For many young aspiring athletes in our communities sports provide a safe haven and a road that paves the way to a better life. Through Business & Baseball, students are taught that they should work extremely hard to pursue their dreams in professional sports but that their education is equally important.

Many students do not realize that they can make a profession out of sports by working for a sports organization if they do not make it as a professional athlete. Students are able to use their education and studies to solidify their continued involvement with sports throughout their professional careers whether it is on the ball field or in the office.

This site serves as a gateway to the Business & Baseball Youth Program, my life and passion for baseball, and the valued supporters of this community effort.

“There are 162 games in a baseball season, and life is one long baseball season. Every day is a new game, a new opportunity. Baseball players either strike out or have an unsuccessful at-bat just about every game. But their successful at-bats even things out at the end of the year, and all that matters is how you deal with those strike outs/short-comings and where you end up at the end of the season.”

"Take life one at-bat at a time, and keep your head up…because you might miss the next pitch if you don’t."

-Ryan Latham, Founder of Business & Baseball
